We just pushed out Build 87 (r29817) to all users with lots of bug fixes and enhancements. As always, you can read the entire list of enhancements on our Change Log. Notable changes include:

• Facebook Notifications: We’ve added support for Facebook Notifications including popup alerts for new notifications and the ability to view the full list of notifications within the Facebook newsfeed
• New Ad Options: You can now change the placement of the ads inside the IM window (top/bottom/left/right) and you can also disable Flash ads if they cause performance issues or the animation is bothersome (Preferences > Conversations)
• New Load Balancers: We redesigned the server load balancers to better distribute logins during mass reconnects so we can scale more efficiently for our growing user base
• Crash Fixes: We took some time to hunt down and fix some of the most common crash causing bugs

We are currently wrapping up a major protocol upgrade for Windows Live Messenger (MSN) accounts and it will go live within the next 1-2 releases. The MSN servers we connect to have been flaky for the past few weeks. We are working on upgrading the version of the MSN protocol we use to connect to a new set of servers they have, which should be much more stable. This upgrade will fix most of the commonly reported issues with login, buddy list management, message delivery, and file transfers.
