Build 41 – Private Alpha Release

We just pushed an update to alpha testers (Build 41, r19423 r19427) which introduces many new bug fixes and enhancements. As always, you can read the entire list of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements on our Change Log. Notable changes include:

We’re testing a completely new method of load balancing and authentication. All alpha testers will log in to a new server that is running this new code. We’ll keep a close eye on the server to make sure everything is working properly so we can push this to all servers and users in the near future. If you are not able to log in, please email us your diagnostic log.
Fixed a bug that caused the IM window to fall back to incorrect fonts if the font being used by a theme or in a conversation is not present on your computer

If you experience any bugs please use “Help > Send Bug Report” in the main menu to submit a diagnostic log or email us at bugs@digsby.com. If you have any suggestions, please email us at features@digsby.com.

Update 1 (12/8/2008 5:50pm): We just pushed a small update taking us to r19427. It fixed a bug that prevented a few people from logging in using the new load balancing / authentication mechanism.

heads up... i know windows 7 is not even in beta 1 until next year, but since i love digsby very much, so i give it a test on Windows 7 build 6956 (using the latest digsby i downloaded today) and give you guys a feedback.

Digsby runs, but it failed to bring up the chat window..(both on incoming msg & when i double click my budy)

I am just waiting for the option enabled to send message in MSN or Hotmail id holders even if I am in invisible mode. Its utmost necessary.

@XGhozt- there is already a log converter, www.logconverter.com, that will convert all of your logs into Digsby.

However, it remains to be seen if that functionality will be rolled into the client or not. hopefully so because it would be a huge draw for many people like yourself.

also...the maker of the convert UFGrayMatter needs community help right now to make it better and more efficient, so if you can help, I suggest that you do- the details are on his site.

How can I get this alpha build? I'm having an issue where some IMs show up as white text on a white background that I have to highlight to read. I think this might fix that.

Nice work, Digsby is now the multi chat client that I make all my friends use when I see them running 5 IM clients just to message me. <3

But, I still can't use Digsby for myself.. :( I used Pidgin for so long that I literally have thousands of chat logs from hundreds of other people. Pidgin has a nice feature where it can read or integrate the chat logs of other IM clients. It would be great to be able to open Digsby and have all my chat logs already there.

And of course.. IRC, while it's not absolutely needed it's a feature in demand and something I would very much like integrated with Digsby.
