digsby

Digsby is Here!

Hello world! After two years of super stealthy development we are ready to introduce you all to digsby! The idea for digsby came from a simple concept – online communication has become too complex. We all use IM, email, and social networks to communicate with each other and sometimes managing it all can be overwhelming.

Digsby is an easy to use IM client that helps you organize everything under one roof! It lets you log in to your existing AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk and Jabber accounts, merging everything into one buddy list! But that’s just the beginning. Add your email and social network accounts and almost everything you need to know about your online world is just one click away! Check out the screenshots or feature list sections to see a glimpse of what digsby can do for you.

We are currently in private beta so if you need an invite code, shoot us an email to be added to the list. If you are one of the lucky few and you have an invite code click here to go download digsby. If you experience any bugs please let us know and we will fix them ASAP! We’d also love to hear any suggestions about how we can make digsby even better!

Enjoy,
The Digsby Family

New to Digsby and not sure yet if I like it. Couple improvements might change my mind: Allow it to dock on your desktop as a horizontal or vertical tab layout that would slide out or light up tabs when active - Objectdock has a nice interface. Add Skype and Flickr. Add RSS reader and you'd have one nice tool that would wrap up a lot of daily apps in a nice package. Happy New Year

Digsby is awsome! I've been searching for a multi-protocol messenger application that I like for the longest of times, and now... it's finally here!
Thanks guys... keep up the good work!

PS: I can't seem to get it to connect from my workplace (proxy and domain)...
  • Jim
I'm using the host of login.oscar.aol.com and Port of 5190
Could it be possible on of these is wrong?
  • Jim
I'm having authentication errors when I try to sign into my AIM account, is there something wrong?
  • John
I love Digsby, but like others, I have been cursed with the " You are signing in too often" issue with Yahoo Messenger. It doesn't seem to matter if I am currently connected to YM, recently connected to YM, or haven't connected in hours.
  • Never mind, I found it.
  • Where can I report bugs?
  • anil
I am new to Digsby, but its became my favorite IM client in no time.
but now I am facing a problem with gtalk(digsby) at office. I am running the same at home without any issue. But at office, gtalk says "connecting" and it stays in that state forever.
  • Chris
Hi.. Today I fint this software.. and I like it.. but!
I'we got problems with MSN login. I know, you had a lot of qutes about this problem.. but it was on february.. this year.
    I have the same problem:

    Authentication error
    Host:muser.messenger.hotmail.com
    Port:1863

This problem is possible, that i use an old msn account? (not an xxx@hotmail.com)?
  • I think this is a great app. Like Skorz though I would like a way of turning off the graphical smileys - could you add this to the next build, please? Thanks.
  • Stephen
    Hi,
This app is absolutely wonderful, I've been using it for a whole day now and I've got to say, it's so much better than Trillian in every way. I'd recommend this app to anyone! Good job, and thanks for releasing it. By the way, i found this app on www.download.com - my most trusted download site.
  • joggs
    Hi,
    Wonderful app.
Support for Sametime would make a big difference for us at work and there is a public API for ibm lotus sametime as well so it shouldn't be that hard to implement for you.
  • Rene
    Hi,

i like your messenger, it's very nice :)

It would be nice, if you'd add following features:

    - invisible for all
    - displaying people who are invisible
    - skype support
  • Julia
Could you please tell me if Digsby works on Win ME??? So far it will not load.
  • anon
great job, this was much needed. Now if only we could get more skins! :D
  • smitty
    hi,

i have 2 jobs where both computers are behind a proxy. however at my first job, when i installed it, it was working great! then at my 2nd job, when i d/led it and tried to open the program, it wont let me open at all.

    any suggestions?
  • someone
    please add the next features:
1.allow to send SMS via the ICQ network.
2.allow to connect to skype network.
    3.allow having video/audio chatting.
4.allow running the program without having a digsby account.
    5.add portable version.
    6.allow using plugins and skins.
  • Sabrina
sometimes it will have my "from" account be from my yahoo (if I am writing to an MSN friend)...when i have never used my yahoo name to write that particular person. anyone know how to keep this from happening? and how do you change it, once it's happened once?
  • Jordan K
Just wondering, what toolkit/framework (GTK, QT, .NET) do you use; also, I havn't installed it yet, not on my own computer now, but do you/do you plan on including at least a simple IRC client? That'd be nice.
  • Kadie
BEST than other IM includes, AIM, MSN, Yahoo and Trillian! Trillian are bored! Love Digsby a lot! :-)Glad get one from my RIT community. How get more Theme? Please me know how add theme.
    Thanks
  • This app is most impressive. I just can't get it to log on to my GTALK account though on a vista machine. The same account works just fine on XP
  • Justin
Hi, it would be really nice if you added an option where new IMS wouldn't pop up on the screen, but rather as a blinking icon in the system tray. Some people feel instant message conversations are very private, and if someone is over your shoulder, and an IM pops up on the screen, sometimes that's an awkward situation.
  • the-tick
Hi, I've requested an invite really looking forward to trying this as I have used trillian for ages now and would really like to see a different take on the multi IM scene
  • Keith
edit: Not being able to double-click words in IM boxes to select text (whether single word or 3 times for line/paragraph) is also something I miss. Having to click drag to just select one word kind of sucks. (Yes it's nitpicky)
  • Keith
So far: 1) Cannot attach hyperlinks to words in conversations or away msgs, 2) Cannot see when users are typing, 3) Users log in and out (various protocols) - I'm guessing Digsby is still a little too sensitive with regards to checking other users' status.
  • Any plans to support Sametime? IBMs protocol.
  • Keith
Is there an easy way (or any) to attach hyperlinks to words in away msgs or in conversations? It's late and I might just be missing it....
  • Chan
Hello Guys/Gals!! I really like what I'm seeing here but my question is this. Will this work on my Mac OS X? If it doesn't, will there be a version for it out soon? Thanks!!!
  • @Zathman - no problem... we have the system in place but didn't want to bother our users with messages. However, you are not the first to ask for this and it will make life easier on us since we will get less bug reports for issues that are already resolved.
  • Zathman
Steve, perhaps you should implement a little pushed message from "Digsby.com" that notifies a person when an update is available (for those who don't quit chat clients or restart their computers all that often). So then people would know there's a new update available :)
  • This program is amazing! I'm looking forward to have a feedback forum! Just wrote a review in portuguese:

    http://2.0.bloguite.com/geral/digsby-unificar-e-que-esta-a-dar.html

Keep with the good work! I'd like to help with the pt-PT translation though :)
  • @Brant - in due time... adding social networks will take priority over video/voice but we will get to it.

@Andrew - when you launch digsby it will update and then say "Update Successful". You can click "Help" > "About" and you should be on Build 12111.
  • Andrew
How does one know if they have gotten a auto update? Do you plan on including webcam and or voice any time soon?
  • Brant
love it. Please add video, plaxxo, linked in and flicker.

    B
  • Max
Hi guys! Thank you again for great IM!!!
I wrote a review for Digsby in Ukrainian language on: http://www.forum.poltava.ws/soft-ta-igry/4279-digsby-im-icq-yahoo-google-msn-new-post.html

I sent you some mails Steve and want to help you with translation of it to Ukrainian and Russian language.

    Thanks!
  • Sabrina
turned off AVG...and finished the dl. so far everything is great!
  • @Skorz - more skins on the way!

@Sabrina - we use the NSIS installer to package digsby and some anti-virus programs return a false positive. I guarantee that there are no viruses, spyware, adware, or bundled third party apps in digsby. You can read more about NSIS False Positives here:

    http://nsis.sourceforge.net/NSIS_False_Positives

(anyone have a solution to this? email us at bugs@digsby.com)
  • Sabrina
I run AVG anti-virus on my computer, and as I'm trying to download Digsby it comes up with a virus alert and will not allow me to continue the download. Anyone else have this problem, or run AVG?!!? I'm dying to try out Digsby, but haven't been able to do so yet! Any help would be appreciated.
  • Matt
Just got the auto update. glad to see how hard u guys are working
  • Skorz
    Issues:

1: More skins, preferably one that makes this look like a normal windows app. I personally have never gone for the whole 'skins' thing in apps.

2: Control-U does not clear the entire line like other IM clients

3: You cannot turn off smiley graphics.
  • Matt
    Thanks for the help
  • @Matt - you can turn conversation logging off in preferences and you can delete the logs in your "My Documents" folder
  • DMzda
Thanks Steve, i submitted the report
  • Matt
Is there away to clear out the the conversation history? Also is there a way of turning the conversation logging off?
  • @Josh and Will - we will have community forums up shortly. We wanted to personally handle all initial bugs so we can gather feedback and fix them more quickly.
  • @DMzda - please user "Help" > "Submit Bug Report" after you get the Facebook error to send us a diagnostic log

@Olivier - we are working on the MSN login issue right now and will push an auto-update as soon as it is ready

@curvefan - that bug was fixed... if you are still having an issue send an email to bugs@digsby.com so we can help you out
  • DMzda
The client is very good, but sometimes sluggish. I can't seem to get facebook working. As soon as i add the account, it says it cannot connect. When i click retry, it stays on "Connecting..." forever. Gmail and MSN work fine. I run behind an authenticated proxy, but everything seems fine.

    Thanks,
    DMzda
  • Olivier
I can't wait to test the IM feature of this app but can't seem to be able to log on MSN Messenger. It passes authentication but gets stuck on loading the contact list. I tested it out with GTalk and it works fine.

Possible feature to add: closing a chat window by hitting ESC.

Nice app so far, I like the idea.
  • curvefan
After further testing, I am back to where no gmail accounts appear after I sign out then in again.

    Thanks
  • CannedBass
Any chance of implementing Xfire messaging? Or maybe plugins so someone else can make an xfire plugin?
  • Ville
How about displaying custom smileys like msn messenger does? And that thing that I can't send any messages including scandinavic letters like Ä and Ö. And do need them alot :D
  • curvefan
    Steve,

Thanks. I finally got one gmail account to stick. Whenever I try to register another gmail account it will not stick following a sign out. Is one gmail account the limit or do I have another problem?

    Thanks
  • Will
Will you be creating a support forum on your website? I think that would be a great place for everyone to post feature requests so that you don't get a million requests for the same thing. It'd also be a great place for everyone to help each other out with issues they experience.
  • @curvefan - try now, it will work just fine.

@whoschris - I sent you an email for a diagnostic log so we can fix the issue.

@chrimsonKnighty13 - we have gotten a few reports about MSN / Yahoo connection issues. We are working as fast as possible to resolve them. We will push an auto-update once they are fixed.
  • CrimsonKnight13
Excellent Multi-IM app. One issue though, I can't connect to MSN no matter what I do. It keeps giving me an authentication error despite the fact that the email notification works well for the same email.
  • whoschrish
I can't seem to log into yahoo messenger. Says I am signing in too often but I can log in from different software..just not digsby. Other then that I've had no issues. Completely awesome!
  • Joe
Thanks, Steve, for letting me know it *is* a false positive virus detection, and that there's *no* badware in Digsby.
  • Really nice, I ditched my minimalistic Miranda IM for this.
    Posted about it.
  • curvefan
Anybody having problems with gmail accounts?

Everytime I create a gmail account and later sign out of digsby, then sign in again, the gmail account is gone. It was working fine before I signed out. I tried this twice and both times the gmail accounts were gone after signing out then back in again.

I submitted a bug report but not sure how they respond to these reports.
  • Ryan
You guys utilize the same formatting on the message styles as Adium - which is really a big plus factor. Is there any plans for making the contact list in the same fasion?
  • JamesA
Great! Great! Great! This finally allows me to manage the personal/professional IM/E-mail accounts that I have in a consolidated way. Nice clean interface, really user friendly set up. (2 GMail, 2HotMail, Fbook, & IMs for all).

    Great work!
Found you via a Lifehacker post.
  • phr34k
How is the proxy update coming? I am hoping that is the reason I can't connect...
  • Looks pretty solid so far. Biggest complaints I have that I haven't seen comments on yet are the inability to put more than a single-digit number in for the "Show last x lines of history in conversation window" option, and the lack of date options in the timestamp options.
  • cacapee
Great Program! Is there a way to turn off all icons in the system tray. Thanks
  • cacapee
Great Program! Is there a way to turn off all the system tray. Thanks
  • Gygaxis
I'm very happy to have stumbled across this, I'd just ran through a gamut of multiprotocol im clients last week looking for something I actually got along with, and just really couldn't get into any of the windows applications. I'm very pleased with Digsby so far with memory consumption and other issues being addressed.

One feature I've yet to see in any non AIM client yet is to change the title of a window when you alt+tab out of it to change the title of the conversation window (as it would appear in the taskbar) from the name of whichever conversation tab you were on to "N(X)" with N= Number of conversations open, and X being number of tabs with new content in them. I'm expecting pop up notification will likely makeup for not having that, but it's a feature that I still think was really solid.
  • Scott
I'd love to give this a try, I've registered my user name and everything, but every time I try to download it and run the installer, I get an error saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Is this a problem with the current download, or is there something I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?
    Thanks.
  • Any support for a Vista sidebar widget in the works? Kind of like Yahoo Messenger "Vista Edition" works?
  • Chris
Awesome, i've been using Miranda to have all my IMs in the one client, but this adds Facebook and Gmail too! Nice!

One thing i would really like is the ability to now display my contacts avatars on the buddy list. And when they are not displayed the amount of vertical space used by each buddy is reduced.

What this would mean is you can see more buddies on screen (without having to keep scrolling up and down to find them).

    Nice work!
  • Andrew
Oh and by the way thank you for keeping this aplication advert free. Keep up the great work
  • Andrew
This is a great product and i am extreamly impressed. It has saved me a considerable amount of time trying to access my internet profiles. You should consider including a search bar within the main window. Also a way to see online photo albums such as Flickr would be a great feature. The ability to be away on one IM account and available on another would be a very good touch. Some sort of blog support such as twitter support would be nice. Lastly i would recomend making more skins or opening them up to be easily cutomized by a user of the aplication (im sorry to say while it is a much better aplication then windows live messenger it doesnt look very good compared to it)
  • Joe
AVG Antivirus found trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.UAQ in the setup program.

I hope this is a false positive.
  • Khuzaima
If we can get skype in here with Voice!!!! that would be Great
  • Khuzaima
Great software!!!! there is a bug in yahoo messenger!!! i cant seem to log on!!!
  • Just Josh
You just stole a long time Trillian fan, this program has great potential. Would be nice if the buddy list didn't show up in the taskbar, though.

Community forums would also be nice.
  • AVG won't let it install says has a virus called Downloader.Zlob.UAQ
    help?!?
  • Al
This is looking great at first glance! (Although I'm a real Pidgin lover) I'll definitely keep an eye on this blog.
  • jeremy
hey how about being able to file transfer a whole folder rather then just single files?
  • The Dave
    Steve:
@Sergio - we are working on a proxy fix right now and will do our best to push it out tonight.

Lol, I was just going to say I am behind a proxy but then I saw this. I am excited to use your program.
  • Looks good so far. My only quibble is that with MySpace I'd rather be able to see my friends' bulletins than status updates.
  • @Sergio - we are working on a proxy fix right now and will do our best to push it out tonight.
  • Dan
This app is hands down amazing. Kudos for putting together such a great piece of software. Even in beta it is wowing me! I have to say, I don't think I'll be going back to Trillian any time soon.
  • I have just tried after two days waiting. My company blocks all the ports except the 80.. It is an amazing program but I will thank you if we could configure the TCP/IP port to pass the company proxy...

Many thanks for the good work.. it will change my life
  • omg its nate
Duh this has something just like meebo :)
  • omg its nate
Great program, I might have to switch from what I am currently using. (Pidgin)The reason I use that is because of the meebo and myspace chat plugin.
  • Esente
On the social networking side, is there a plan to integrate Peekamo? It's a free SMS service and also a social network. It works really great, and it'd be great if I can send Peekamo SMS through Digsby interface, as well as setting my peekr (a kind of status).

Also, a way to set up online mode for individual IM protocols would be neat. Sometimes I want to be invisible on Y!M, but available on MSN (since it's my work network).
  • Ian Prentice
If you are like me, you have an "inverted colour scheme" which means white text on a black background. You application's menu has a "white" background and "Windows' default" font colour so on my screen all the menus are white on white. And to add insult to injury, your comment box that I am entering this into has a "your default" background and "black (or near to)" font colour. Define both or neither, not one or the other.
  • MattK
I'm very impressed. I'm a longtime Adium user on my home mac, and have been desperate for a good IM client on my work PC. Trillian doesn't do it for me, Pidgin is ugly, AIM/MSN/etc. have adverts. Digsby (while it may be focused on social integration) is already my favorite Windows IM client. I was using Miranda, but this is better. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work!
  • BenW
I've used pretty much every AIM program out there, from the beta days of Gaim through Pidgin, to Trillian and lots of mac based prgrams as well (Adium, Proteus, etc). I must say you guys have put together a great little program here, very clean, very feature rich, does everything i want it to even in the beta stage (except being able to edit my buddy info :) After being a mac owner for many years I do see a very striking resemblence to Adium; same skins, same chat windows, etc. Will you be adding Digsby only skins and features to it or do you think you guys are going to continue to utilize Adium based skins here?

PS: if this program can get down to the memory usage of miranda im, im sold.

    keep up the great work
  • @Esente:

On #3 your profile is stored is the same anywhere you login.

    @Steve

Even with that. Is it possible to make a portable version of Digsby to use off a flash drive? This would be great to use on public computers as to not have to install anything and be real nice and quick.
  • @Esente - thank you for the comments.

    1) Working on this bug
    2) I agree - we will add it to the enhancements list
    3) Log in from another location - you will be amazed
    4) We will add this in the future for sure!
  • Esente
Love this program, but want to suggest some improvements:

    1. The pop-ups and the main chat windows are not synced. I mean, if you chat in the pop-up, the chat lines will not appear in the main chat window.

    2. Context menu for tabs: Some of my buddies have short ID, therefore, when I click on their tabs, I usually mistakenly click on the close button. There should be a context menu that allows us to do various actions such as lock tab, close tab, close other tabs, etc...

    3. Make it portable: I don't know where the settings are stored, but use the ini file and keep it in the same folder would be good for portability. Also, the code should be tweaked that way too, I think. Portability is always good so that I can carry all my Digsby profile with me on the go.

    4. Video & Audio chat: I usually chat with my girlfriend through webcam in Y!M. Unless Digsby has this feature, I will stick with Y!M for a while.

That's all so far I can remember! Will let you know in the future.

But thanks for the great software!
  • @Andy - it is a proxy bug that we are fixing right now.
  • Andy
Hi, I would love to say its great, but I get 'Failed to Connect' errors!

If I put incorrect credentials in, I get 'Authentication Error' so I'm connecting to your server,

    Any ideas?
  • sneacker
wow, this is great! Thank you
  • @James - shooting you an email so we can resolve the issue!
  • I'm having problems getting my facebook account to log in. I've installed the facebook app etc. but it just says 'connecting...' in my digsby client. I've removed the account and added it again and this hasn't solved the problem??
  • Zathman
I was browsing various feeds this morning on my Blackberry and crossed an article about Digsby. The name caught my attention for some reason so I read the article, and liked what I read. Later went looking into it. Best thing I could ever have done :)

Although I have accounts for nearly every service, from Google Apps for your Domain to MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, Facebook, Myspace, and etc., I was never a big fan of any single client with the exception of Google Talk. All others are cluttered and full of unnecessary bloat whereas Google Talk was clean and it offered an important feature: Email previews. I tried Pidgin, Trillian, and a few other multi-network clients and I couldn't get into them. They weren't appealing and they didn't offer email notifications with previews; at least as well as Gtalk did. As soon as I saw what Digsby had to offer with email, I was sold.

I'm flat-out impressed with the features and can easily overlook the bugs (after reporting them of course), for Digsby is from now on, the client for me.

    Thanks Steve :)
  • @Jonathan - we do not use libpurple. The protocols were implemented from scratch (we have been developing digsby for two years).
  • Jonathan
libpurple is GPL which mean opening up the source code. Are you going to opened the source code?
  • jeremy
its wonderful, ive fallen in love already. goodvbye aim!

it would be nice to be able to import settings from thunderbird or windows mail or whatever if your using pop email
  • @Dach - thank you for the kind words. You are not the first to request merging of icons and we will add this feature in once we settle the bug reports we are getting.
  • Dach
I love this program already, and will probably never run Trillian again! The only thing I can think of to improve it is having a little more control of how the systray icons are displayed. Currently it's an all-or-nothing deal. I'd like it if I could collapse the soc icons into one instead of separate facebook/myspace icons. Same with email, I imagine, but I only use one email account. This is not even remotely a deal-breaker, though.
Oh, one more thing. I know it's not really a soc network, but if it were possible to add LiveJournal to it, that would make it so über-kakkoii I'd be ecstatic.
  • Ramanujam
Looks really great! I would like to see the further enhancements soon.
  • Andre
good program easy to use the it was simple for me to set up all my accounts people are gonna love this
  • supervan
Love the program and cant wait for a linux version.
Only problem so far is that it keeps saying "Loading contact list" for my msn account. No problem and the GTalk side.
  • David
Great application but crashes quiet often
  • Chris
I was a Trillian user who made the switch to Digsby! Its now the most used app on my machine. Thank you!
  • @Geo - we are working on memory usage as we speak. Besides proxy support that is our highest priority. Feel free to share the invite code. As for the "default from" - it should only mess it up once because it doesn't know which account to select. Once you send one of your friends a message it will remember that "from" selection for next time. Please send in a bug report if that is not the behavior you end up getting.
  • Geo
Wow, this is great. A little hard on the memory usage but that's all. I was wondering if you could set a default account to use to IM your MSN contacts. When I try to IM my MSN contacts, it defaults to using my Yahoo ID and that's not exactly what I wanted. Thanks. Great application! As of now I'm participating in two IM client beta tests. Trillian Astra and Digsby. Now it's the question of which one will win me over in the end? I just hope that Digsby will be my ideal lean mean IMing machine. Also I was wondering if I was allowed to share my invite code with a couple of eager friends or am I supposed to keep it secret like Trillian's secret operation?
  • Wow! If this will do all as intended, I sing your praises from the top of our workplace building! OH! And write about it for www.techtalkradio.com reviews to boot! :)
May I get an invite code?
  • @John - 5222 and 5555. But we will have it working on 80 tomorrow - it will auto update. If you have proxy settings that may be why you can't connect. We are working on fixing that right now.
  • John
I can't seem to connect either, and I'm not behind a firewall. Are there specific ports that need to be opened?
  • Jukka
I got the dlsquad invite and just installed. First impressions are great. Really clean and tight look all around and there's some awesome themes. Only annoyance I have noticed is that (at least in icq) digsby puts font tags around the sent message if it contains scandinavian letters. Here's hoping for a fix soon. Awesome job!
  • Sonny
Also, will Twitter be thrown into the social networking mix?
  • Sonny
Great application. One thing I was wondering is if there is going to be a transparency option?
  • Jay
I've got it working on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. Didn't give me any problems. Will let you know if I run into anything though. Nice app.
  • We will fix the proxy issue later today and digsby will auto-update with the fix.
  • Steven
This looks like it has potential, even though I can't connect at all because I'm also behind a firewall. Any chance there will be proxy support soon?
  • Great work guys. I've been looking for a program like this for a while now. Keep up the good work.
  • Working great on my ye old Win2K machine. Going to give it a post soon!
  • Jed
I keep getting "Failed to Connect" errors when trying to sign in. I've reset my password to make sure I was using the right one. Is the service down right now?
  • Maguita Venegas
Wondefull, I need a code. Thanks

I'm afraid I can't connect due to the fact I'm behind a proxy. I haven't figured out how to configure Digsby to use the proxy's settings prior to connection.
  • Josh
Awesome! This is the kind of thing I've been waiting for - a great time saver. Looking forward to seeing the service grow :)
  • super
Hi guys. I just can't use it. I need a proxy configuration option.. Is that gonna be possible in the near future?
    Thx
  • Looking forward to seeing how this progresses - very happy to see that Google Apps for your domain email accounts are included as so many new apps don't account for this!

At the moment I'm having some problems when IMing on gtalk and msn - if I type a long message and try to send it (by hitting enter) it won't send and I have to split the message into 2 parts? Also pasting long lines of text into an IM message yields the same result...

    This is nice. But.

    - If the message contains scandinavian letters (ÖÄÅ), digsby wont send it.
    - Trillian avatar fails to appear on messenger-list.
    - Why cant the contacts-window be as cool as the login-screen on vista? ;)
    - Some offline people are sorted out as a mobile-contacts. If i sort out the mobile-contacts, they dont appear on offline contacts. It is annoying to see offline-mobile contacts with the regular online folk.

Wow, this looks absolutely great. I haven't been this into a program in ages. :) Can't wait for the OS X and Linux versions. Keep up the good work!

I like this, is it possible to get a couple of invite. Want to write about it in my blog in sweden. Only need like 100 or something.
  • why am i always fail log on yahoo messenger? but beside that, everything is fine. thank you
  • We've posted an initial review of Digsby. It's clearly still a beta product, but most of the people I've shown it to wonder why it's taken so long for someone to come out with something like this. Keep up the good work!

I'm in love! This is an amazing product and in using it for just a few hours I'm completely convinced and have started convincing friends to sign up.

I look forward to seeing where you go with this, and hope you keep up the great work! but I've got to say, so far you are hitting all the right notes.

Are there plans for a plug-in framework? How about a webMessenger client, either by way of a server on the client computer, or a centralized system? This is really great, are there any other ways I can help out?
  • This is a wonderful program. I've been running it for several hours now, and it's been running solid. I do like how some of my favorite chat window themes from Adium are packed in Digsby. (iMac crashed last year, so I've been on Vista ever since.)

    Keep up the good work,
    Ben

    (found this through Download Squad.)
  • I've got to say, I've been looking for a Trillian (pain in the ass, no updates) and Pidgin replacement for a long time, and this blows me away. Plus I get Gmail and Facebook updates in a cool little pop-up? What?!

Only thing is the memory usage, as previously stated, but come on - it's the 2nd day and it's still only using half of what my Firefox does. Maybe you guys can fix their leaks too? ;)

    Good stuff.
  • Just got a invite via DownloadSquad and so far I think this program is great. I am a long time Trillian user and a current Trillian Astra alpha tester but I really like this application. I have a few comments/ideas. Where would the best place be to direct these?

    Thanks,
    Ryan
  • @John: We are aware of this issue. We have not optimized digsby yet - we wanted to get the product out there to start getting feedback from real users! Our number one priority right now is bugs, optimizations, and memory leaks. You will see that number go down considerably within the next few weeks.
  • John
This is great! but it does use A LOT of memory. I'm seeing almost 100MB's of memory usage. I'm using AIM and the Myspace notify.
  • Hisham
    Keep up the Great Work!
