Build 40 – Private Alpha Release

We just pushed an update to alpha testers (Build 40, r19328) which introduces many new bug fixes and enhancements. As always, you can read the entire list of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements on our Change Log. Notable changes include:

Added support for complex languages like Arabic and Thai
Fixed numerous bugs with right to left support in the input box

Keep in mind that as an alpha tester you may get a release with a few bugs every now and then. We are looking for people who are proactive in reporting these issues so we can fix them before builds go out to all users.

Format incomming conversation fonts. My friend's fonts are ugly

I was wondering when the priority will come in for file transfers for MSN.

Seeing 1.30 KB a second for one measly mp3 song that takes an hour doesn't really fit a powerful software as this one.

hi, i had downloaded and use digsby. i luv it very much the way it connect to my others account and get me updated with facebook and twitter. I just noticed that there is a link in the status when it is set to "listening to music" - is that supposed to happen?

Can you please add the options for shortcuts in the installation of digsby, where i have the option where the shortcuts are placed such as the quicklaunch, desktop & the start menu.

Yes my incoming text in my IM windows are diffent font styles now. I haven't changed fonts since I installed Digsby.

YES!! I guess there aren't many who use complex scripts like Thai or Arabic, but it is great to finally be able to see the text in the conversations!

Kudos to the developers for not forgetting the minority. :)

@Mike: We feel your pain and would much rather be working on new features as well. We just want to make the application solid for as many people as possible first. We have two public releases of bug fixes coming and then a massive feature release with some of the most requested things. As for speed, we're still pushing updates about once a week. We just push them as alpha releases and push updates to everyone else about monthly so we don't overwhelm people.

@Avish The IM window can show languages with complex scripts now (i.e., Arabic). Before it would show nothing at all if you sent someone Arabic (or Thai, etc).

Also it handles punctuation around text runs with RTL layout (like Hebrew) correctly now.

when are you going to see some new added features? its been 5 months of just trying to fix crashes ...it would be nice to throw in some new things in the build once in a blue moon that are on your i bet humongous list of demands from your users......i miss the days that we used to get updates every 3 days with new things ...now even alpha testers get infrequent updates let alone the rest of us

dont get me wrong i definitely appreciate the free service that you are providing...keep it up

Uhm... I'm not seeing any change regarding RTL behavior. Can you elaborate on that added "support" and those fixed "bugs"?
