We Need Your Votes!

TradeVibes is a website that aggregates facts and opinions about startups.  They are currently running a contest called “Fever Pitch” and the winner will get a one hour meeting with Ron Conway. Ron is a renowned Silicon Valley entrepreneur and angel investor, having made early investments in companies like Google, Digg, and Twitter among many others. His years of wisdom make his perspective invaluable. We would love to have the opportunity to chat with him for an hour so we can pick his brain for feedback.

We need your help to win Fever Pitch!  The company with the most “Bullish” votes and the least “Bearish” votes at 11:59 PST on August 15th, 2008 wins. To vote, visit the link below and click the green “Bullish” icon in the top right corner. You do need to register for an account and then activate it by clicking the link they email you before you can vote. We really appreciate your support!

On another note, thank you all for the feedback regarding the new build.  All the memory optimizations have surely been welcomed and we are glad to see most people reporting that memory usage is down by over 50%. We are working hard to fix the bugs and crashes you have reported so we can release it to everyone. If you are interested in helping us test it, there are instructions here: http://blog.digsby.com/archives/47

    *laughs*

I feel like this is cheating…

But, I’ll go ahead and do so anyway.

  2. Steve Said,

    August 13, 2008 @ 10:20 pm

@Jonah: It was at their suggestion. I think it is a new site so they are doing this as a way to build their visitor count so I can see why they want all participants to spread the word.

Consider it done! Great product… keep it up!

  4. Kyle Tolle Said,

I voted for Digsby and I really hope you get the chance to meet with Ron Conway. Sounds like one heck of a chance to gain some insight and make a good impression!

As soon as there is a mac version out there I will consider voting it up. Tradevibes says Digsby is “multiplatform” but so far that’s just not true.

We are a new Digsby user. The consistent updates from your development team is appreciated and thus far Digsby is a very stable product. Keep up the great work.

  9. Jimmy Said,

    August 14, 2008 @ 12:42 pm

Fantastic product, definitely voted. Keep up the great work, I’m really looking forward to the new build (one thing that kills me is slow startup times when the computer is booting up, but I love Digsby so much it’s ok).

  10. Patrick McClory Said,

    August 14, 2008 @ 1:39 pm

I’ve been totally thrilled with Digsby thus far (day 3 and counting). The only thing that I’d love to see would be a skype plugin–otherwise it’s gold!

  11. Enrique Said,

  12. Teyen Said,

I have a question and I don’t know any other way to contact you so I hope you can see this!

I downloaded Digsby not too long ago but from the screenshots on this website, it seems like I’m missing a lot of stuff. I don’t have a lot of the skins and I can’t set my status right “on the screen”. There’s more too I think.
If you know how to solve all this, that’ll be great…Thanks! :)

  13. Omi Azad Said,

    August 15, 2008 @ 2:15 am

I could vote for it, but it needs a sign-up. That is a crap idea.

  14. Steve Said,

    August 15, 2008 @ 9:36 am

@Teyen: We will be releasing more skins in the future and documentation for others to make skins.

  15. Jonathan Kurisamas Said,

    August 15, 2008 @ 5:53 pm

I’d LOVE to, but they want you to go through that signup process. Let them know to drop signup for voting, and I’m IN.

great, I’m all for voting, but one commenter said “15 meg RAM Max” I just checked right after the announcment, before I closed it, and the ram was 63 meg. then I closed it and down to 8… weird.

get linux running and i’d vote for it 10 times over (if that wasn’t cheating of course) :-)

  68. Taka Torimoto Said,

Great product - my main complaint is GUI performance needs to be improved - and I think that’s already on your high priority list.

  69. WadeO Said,

    August 17, 2008 @ 8:31 am

This product is great I use this on my website ConsumerCowboy to converse with customers about issues that may be having with coupons or deals that are not working. Sometimes they use it to give me props…

Nice widget I had this installed in Joomla in less than 10 min from sign up to finsh.

  70. Stephen Said,

    August 17, 2008 @ 10:13 pm

If you guys actually released a linux client, I’d actually vote bullish. Not having a linux client would unfortunately force me to not pay for Digsby.

    1. Still waiting for IRC support.
    2. I also really wish there was a quick option in the right click menu on the Digsby tray icon to enable/disable sounds and notifications.
    3. I would love to see a contacts list option to show only buddy icons like Trillian Astra is doing. It’s addictive and very efficient!

  74. Jigo Said,

    August 18, 2008 @ 11:00 pm

Congratulations on the victory, Digsby Team!

Just recieved an email about an hour ago announcing you as the winner of Fever Pitch 2008. I’m very excited for you all. As a devoted Digsby user, it will be very interesting to see what you all will learn from the meeting with Mr. Conway. I’m also glad I was able to cast my vote to support you guys in this amazing project.
