Build 52 – Private Alpha Release
We just pushed an update to alpha testers (Build 52, r21404) which fixes a few bugs that were introduced in the last release and also includes a patch for a change in the MySpace protocol.
Our goal is to push this build out to all users ASAP as long as no new issues have been introduced. So, if you catch any new bugs please let us know. Notable changes include:
- MySpace newsfeed is back (protocol change patch)
- Fixed two bugs that caused incoming IMs to not show in rare cases
- Fixed a bug that caused plugins like LinkedIn and “Listening to” not to load
If you experience any bugs please use “Help > Send Bug Report” in the main menu to submit a diagnostic log or email us at bugs@digsby.com so we can fix them before this build goes live for all users.

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but my hotmail doesn’t work. I log in and it tells me I don’t have an inbox on one account and then after I log out and try to sign in under another account it redirects me to the first log in.

Never mind, I managed to get it to auto-update by doing a fresh reinstall.
But I seem to notice there’s some authentication problem with MSN now? I can’t log on to my MSN accounts.

Ahhh disregard the part about MSN also… appeared to be a transient problem. All’s cool now

Can someone please tell me why the SMS feature in Digsby does not seem to work? At least it does not work for me.. I am told to “add” a number, yet when I click on “add”, nothing happens.. Is that something to be fixed? Thanks!

I posting this again, hoping to get a direct reply from one of the designers
1)make it optional for user to update the software instead of it being automated. A simple “new update is available, version xxx. would you like to update?” yes or no box can easily be implemented.
Will this be done?
2) MIRC Intergation
irc aka mirc is so commonly used and popular that i am shocked it is not in Digsby
3)Simple design tweaks in MSN
- Option to show email address of contact in Buddy List
- Clearer indication of “Blocked Contact”
- Clear Indication of “Offline” contact in Chat Box
My whole list of ideas at the very bottom here

@James: We may change the auto-updater after we leave beta but the main reason for not doing so is that sometimes the updates are critical fixes due to protocol changes. What we are talking about is doing an auto-update after you log in so it takes effect next time you launch Digsby. This way it doesn’t slow down the login. IRC will be added in the future as well as a clearer indication of blocked contacts. As for showing email addresses in the buddy list, you can right click and rename them to alias the buddy. In the IM window, you can set the badge to be their status icon in Preferences > Conversations.
