Build 17 - Full Steam Ahead!
We just pushed an update (Build 17, r12608) that fixes a few key bugs. As always, you can read the entire list of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements on our Change Log. Most notably:
- Facebook no longer gets stuck in “Authenticating”
- URLs in IM windows get converted to links more reliably now
- Better (but not yet perfect) sending/receiving messages in MSN - you will still have bugs talking to buddies who go invisible or return from invisible
- Fix for entire buddy list showing as offline (and possibly partial buddy lists showing)
- Hebrew is no longer displayed as being backwards in the IM window
- IMAP accounts no longer show “Failed to Connect” when a single message is not understood - instead we don’t show the preview for that message
If you still experience any of the bugs above please email us at bugs@digsby.com. Focus for the next build includes:
- Any remaining connectivity or messaging issues that get reported
- File transfer bugs (send some diagnostic logs of failures)
- Partial buddy list showing up (on Jabber)
- Not being able to see your side of the conversation (submit diagnostic logs if it happens to you)

not sure when this bug was introduced, but it was happening to me before this build. clicking links in Digsby chats & dialogues launches IE windows now. before, they would just open new tabs in Firefox, which is set as my default browser.

After installing this update Yahoo refuses to work for me. I keep getting a “Connection Failed”. Is this just my problem or what?

Keep up the work guys, we are all enjoying your software.

Looks great and works fine… thank you!

That MSN “Invisibility bug” wouldn’t happen to also be the one I (And others apparently.) mentioned, would it?
Steve Said,

@trent - we launch the default browser. Make sure Firefox is set as your system default.
@MrEggsalad - If it isn’t just a network issue shoot us an email at bugs@digsby.com
@Kyanges - quite possibly. MSN has a complex system for handling messaging and it was pretty buggy when we started our beta. Most of the bugs have been fixed so it should be much more stable now but the invisibility bug plus a few more still remain. We will try to get it solidified by the next build.

Something that would be useful from you guys is a list of those feature requests that you’re either working on or contemplating over the medium term.
I have promoted Digsby to my friends and a few have mentioned Twitter and Skype support. I note they’ve been requested in the Support Forums, but I can’t find a list anywhere of which feature requests are likely.
Cheers and keep up the good work!

Yahoo! still disconnects and reconnects quite often for me. It happens enough that I simply don’t log in anymore to Yahoo.

@bandband023 - Can you submit a diagnostic log using Help > Send Bug Report

Great work! Now that Facebook is fully functional for me, this is really a great end-all messenger client, and I’ll be pushing this hard to all my techie friends. Killer app!

Facebook still stuck at connecting after installing the new build.
Steve Said,

@kuldeepverma - it could have been a problem connecting to the facebook servers. Please email us if it persists at bugs@digsby.com

@Paul,
You can find a community maintained wishlist here where people can cast their votes: http://wishlist.digsbies.org
But be aware that the devs may or may not pay attention to it, and that it is very much unofficial.

Has anyone noticed that the log files seem to be scrambled and often time are missing conversation?

I can’t connect MSN today, while everything was just fine yesterday!
Seems that I can log on using another software, so I guess MSN is not down… Should I report a bug, or just wait?
Anyway, once again, really really great job on this app!

I can not connect to MSN since the last Update. There is an authentification error, but my login datas are correct.

Yahoo! - still frozen “authenticating”
Google Talk - Authentication Error “not allowed”
Such a lovely client, such connectivity bloopers - c’mon, guys.

@Alex - email us at bugs@digsby.com and we will figure out what is going wrong. First guess at the GTalk bug is that you put a period where there should not be one or left one out in your username.
