Build 84 – Private Alpha Release

We just pushed out Build 84 (r28550) to ALPHA testers, which is a small update that includes a few fixes for a couple protocol issues. Changes include:

  • Fixed a bug that caused Hotmail to get stuck in “Authenticating” due to a protocol change
  • Fixed a bug that caused long tweets to fail due to an encoding issue

We want to get this build out to all users ASAP so please let us know if you run into any bugs by using “Help > Send Bug Report” in the main menu to submit a diagnostic log or email us at bugs@digsby.com.

I am waiting for inclusion of Skype within the purview of Dogsby so that my skype friends do not feel left out

  • Maxwell Peters

What about Linux version, you guys have been saying that it's coming soon for 2 years now!

  • Goffochoco

Okay, I had to shutdown and restart Digbsy, now MSN authentication is working fine.

    28550 seems working ok now.

  • Thanks for the update. Glad to know it's working for you.

  • Scarystuff

    My version is 28550 ?

  • Thanks, good catch! Fixed.

  • Ethan

Thanks for this patch , hotmail is working now ( at least for me ) what about the randoms disconnections from Gmail ?

thanks for the hard work and keep the god work

  • Thanks! How long has the GMail issue been affecting you? Could you submit a bug report when that happens. It may be a temporary server issue or it could be something else.

  • Ran

I am also getting thos random Gmail disconnections, but i'm quite sure that they are on Gmail's side, and not Digsby. I came to this conclusion because i have Digsby monitoring 6 Gmail accounts, and when a disconnection happens, it only happens on a random one of those 6 accounts.

  • Ethan

Thanks for your response , I have sent bugs reports and got email from steve S. he told me could be temporary server issue ( I reported both Hotmail and Gmail ) asn they will just randomly disconnect and wont be able to reconnect until a few hours
as always thank you for your support

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it's been about 1 1/2 months since the last stable build, and these are the only 2 changes since then?
I'm sure you have much more in mind, which is why I'd like to express that it would be nice to see some written updates about what your plans are, and how things are progressing! Communicating with your audience is key, as least that's what I think.

  • Digsby

We do have a big release coming up as you suspect :)

We just wanted to get these patches out ASAP since Hotmail broke for a lot of people due to a protocol change.

  • Any insight on "a big release"? ;)
