Happy Build Day!
We just pushed an update (Build 14, r12317)! This build has a few bug fixes but it is mostly changes in the diagnostic log system that will help us hunt down the causes of recently reported bugs. Most notably:
- Fixed all known bugs with sending/receiving messages on MSN
- Fixed the proxy bug which was causing some users to see a “we are upgrading” message. There are a few remaining proxy bugs that are being resolved right now and will be pushed in the next update
Biggest priorities for the next build are:
- There is still a bug with CPU usage spiking and we will have that resolved shortly. If digsby tells you that it is performing poorly and asks whether or not you wish to send a diagnostic log we would appreciate it if you could click yes - it will help us resolve the problem more quickly.
- We added log statements to fix the bug where Facebook gets stuck “Connecting…” - if you can reproduce this please submit a diagnostic log using “Help” > “Submit Bug Report”
- Fixes for email errors that people are reporting - mostly due to improperly parsed messages or international versions of email accounts (ie: @yahoo.es)
As always, you can read the entire list of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements on our Change Log. We will launch the community forum later today so you can discuss digsby, suggest features, and help each other out. Along with that, we will release bug reporting guidelines that will help us deal with issues more efficiently. Enjoy the new build and if you have any issues send an email to bugs@digsby.com.

Having a lot of problems with Yahoo! disconnecting and then immediately reconnecting. This is about on par with what I’ve seen from my colleagues who use Y!IM 8 — I do not have these problems with Y!IM 7. So possibly a Yahoo! problem? Is there a different connection method between 7 and 8?

I love it, this is my first day with it, and a few thoughts
-maybe a way to choose to hide the taskbar(since the system tray icon is there, do I really need it? it takes up room)
-I’m not clear where the chat logs are saved, and can I choose that directory?
-just wondering if you could offer proxy support for individual connections(i.e.-AIM, but not gtalk)
-skin building kit?
great job guys, this is truly a convergence that I will use.

Thanks, updated smoothly! Will have to wait until tomorrow before I can test the MSN fixes as none of the people on my contact list were online (or, atleast someone I’d like to talk to, hehe …)

Since the last update, i haven’t been able to connect to MSN at all.
You guys are making a good product, but these constant bugs are making it really hard for me to stick with it. if it’s not fixed soon I’ll be going back to Windows Live Messenger until you can put out a stable product.

The MSN thing is fixed. I’m not sure what happened. WLM was working fine, but digsby wasn’t. I tried digsby an hour later and it was working fine for me.

Digsby won’t launch after reboot. Nothing happens when you click on the shortcut or drill down to the app from the start menu.
Was able to logon to MSN and Yahoo using their IM messanger.

@Gordon - can you email me at bugs@digsby.com so we can make sure the cause was a bug we fixed today.

Steve
All is good now. I looked through the forum, tried the suggestion of clearing the cache content to see if it would resolve, but unfortunately no go. I uninstalled Digsby, rebooted my box and reinstalled the app again. So far everything is back up and running. Will let you guys know if anything else pops up.
The new support forum is great. Keep up the great work guys!

You guys rock! I’ve been using Digsby for a few days and you’ve made my life so much more productive. Instead of getting side tracked checking e-mail and facebook, I can keep working. My boss thanks you.

This is AWESOME. I downloaded the beta about a week ago and just got around to setting up all my accounts. Man, this is great. Looks good, so far runs great (It does use quite a bit of RAM, though), and I even got my wife to install it and she loves it too.
Bye bye Pidgin, HELLO DIGSBY.

i love digsby and it has super potential to be better than anything out there but i have a couple of bug reports…
1. my myspace is stuck on authenticating.
2. on msn i can send messages, but i can’t see them in my window. when it does show up, it appears in the recipient’s dialog bubble.
that’s all i know of right now. but keep up the good work guys! can’t wait for the next build

Hey Guys, just want to say that I love Digsby, but I have two questions.
How to you get the widget onto facebook, and why does Digsby register me as offline on MSN?
thanks!

Works great so far. I did get the “too much CPU” message once. I haven’t received another one yet, though. The only thing that comes to mind is that I had did a file transfer and shortly after I got that message. I haven’t did a file transfer since and haven’t got that message yet.

I’m loving this app, is nice to have everything I need in one place. My only problem so far is that is running 50% of my CPU but I’ve seen your looking into that. I have noticed that the Myspace taskbar icon shows fine but in Digsby itself its showing as connecting constantly.

I discovered a new oddity. I don’t think it did this before, but when Digsby opens up (When I start my computer), it insists on opening its Buddy List window on the right side of my screen, and it shoves my Vista Sidebar a bit left. The box also isn’t skinned and only has a tiny [x] in the upper right corner. Once I close it and reopen it, it’s skinned normally and covers my sidebar rather than moving it. I hope the final version will either remember where I moved the buddy list, start minimized, or both. It’s still better than anything else out there, though.

@Dach
Sounds to me like its auto docking to the right side of the screen upon startup and minimizing and restoring the list causes it to lose the dock. You could goto the options and remove the snap to edges options and dock options, restart the app and see if that cures the problem.
