Wahoo!!! Question though, if I currently get the Connection error, how will I get the update? is there a second path I can use to get that?

  2. Steve Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 2:55 pm

@Kyle - the auto update system got a lot of attention and even though you can’t connect to digsby you will get the auto update.

I still can’t get sign in, any suggestions.

Sorry if this is off topic, but will there be a way to have AIM buddies displayed as their aliases? Currently both the chat window title and the display name within the chats are their screenname…i’ve had people alias’ed for so long i forgot who they were!

I get the Connection error at each boot…but with a “reconnect”, all is fine !

Today I couldn’t log in. While I try, I get the message “Update Successful” and a few seconds later “Digsby needs to restart”. It won’t let me log in :(

  8. Steve Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 5:30 pm

    @John - fix coming soon

@Ben - fix coming soon (most likely next update)

@João - fix coming soon but for your bug you will need to reinstall after the next update is posted on http://changelog.digsby.com. It was a unicode bug in the auto-update system

I still cant connect to MSN. :(

Great, looking forward to it. One more thing - my Gtalk account is logging itself back in after a little while, if I have changed my global status to “Offline”. I will try to keep a better record of when this happens, but for now the only thing I know is that I go offline and within a little while I’ll get an IM from someone, and lo and behold my buddy list is full back up.

  11. Steve Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 8:09 pm

@Ben - we will try to reproduce it here as well so we can knock this one out. Thanks for the help.

  12. Parth Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 9:57 pm

Is the MSN problem only with @msn.com accounts? I just registered an @live.com account yesterday and it’s working fine.

  13. Steve Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 10:22 pm

@Parth - yes and we have already fixed this but. It will get pushed in the update tomorrow along with the fix for the “Failed to Connect” issue.

  14. Ben Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 10:27 pm

OK I think I figured out how to reproduce the automatic logging back on thing:

    1) Open Digsby and login all accounts as normal.
    2) Go globally offline via the main dropdown at the top of the buddylist.
    3) Leave the computer for a while (i.e. invoke “Idle” status)
    4) Once you return from idle, Digsby attempts to set the status as Available, which of course means logging back on to all services, etc…I’m not sure what happens after this to make me appear “Busy” to my Gtalk buddies, but you get the point.

Thanks again and I am really glad to see such quick and polite responses from you Steve!

  15. Randy Said,

Any idea when a forum is going to be set up? I know you guys may be busy, but a forum would be nice.

  16. Steve Said,

    February 11, 2008 @ 11:17 pm

@Randy - we wanted to answer all bug-related issues personally at first. We will have one up shortly .

Any idea..what kind of error is this? When i try to connect using username and password it says “connection lost”..am i missing something?

  20. Kourai Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 6:17 am

    I still can’t connect either!
Hope it will be fix soon, as Digsby totally rocks!!! :)

  21. Richa Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 7:58 am

One of my friends logged into msn messenger from my computer and sent me a message. We noticed .. when she sent me the message i didn’t receive it

then I sent her a message from digsby she got mine .. i got her replies as well. So if some one starts a conversation with me on msn i never get anything . But if I’m the one to start the conversation everything is fine.

    Hi
I just downloaded and tested from home and was impressed that worked on all the IM clients.
But when i came to he office all the connections failed.
Later MSN worked, but the rest show offline and trying to reconnect (GoogleTalk, Yahoo, AIM).
If i’m able to provide information that may help you to troubleshoot just drop me a note.
    Thanks

    @msn.com can not work!

  24. gerardo Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 9:47 am

Correction to my previous post, the one that worked was AIM.
MSN/Yahoo/GoogleTalk continued showing as connection failed.

Given the speed at which you guys are working on fixes and improvements — which is pretty amazing, frankly — you might be suited to a Tangler (www.tangler.com) forum, which allows (but doesn’t require) real-time updates and rich content, and comes with a desktop notifier so that we can all be alerted when there’s a new post.

As it is, I have the “connection lost” error, and I keep checking eagerly back for updates. But that’s fine — it’s the way betas go. It would matter less if your product didn’t rock so much. :)

  26. Steven Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 10:13 am

I see a lot of those “user has left conversation” notices inside chat windows, more than necessary if they are necessary at all, bug? and include an option to disable please.

    I’m liking digsby overall though.

  27. Nuno Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 10:27 am

I have an error very similar to Gerardo.
I installed Digsby at home and everything worked fine.
When I installed it at the office, it just takes a long time connecting only to get a “Connection lost” message in the end.

Hope you guys can fix these issues soon, because this app really, really rocks.

  28. Jacob Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 11:00 am

Will everyone please stop harassing the digsby team about the @msn.com accounts. They have already posted that they have fixed the problem and that the issue will be resolved in the latest patch, which is coming today. They are working hard at fixing it and they don’t need to continually tell everyone something that has been posted previously. Please read the comments above you before you just start whining.

  29. Steve Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 11:01 am

We are doing a code review right now to make sure we don’t introduce new bugs and will push an update shortly.

@Steven - that bug was fixed in the coming update
@Nuno & Jeremy - that bug was fixed in the coming update
@Gerardo - sounds like a firewall blocking those services. You can try changing the port to 80 or 443 in the advanced portion of each account’s options

  30. Cailin Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 12:07 pm

It works great for me at home, but I can’t log in to Digsby itself at work, let alone any instant messengers. I tried a couple of different ports (including one I’ve used for other stuff) under “connection settings” with the host name as “localhost” or blank. Is there something I’m doing wrong, or is there anything else I can try?
    Thanks.

  31. ben Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 12:09 pm

I sign into digsby and everything works fine but the gchat. I can sign into my gmail account but when I try to sign into my gchat i just keep getting a “connection failed” response. Otherwise, everything seems to be working correctly and I like it a lot.

  32. gerardo Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 3:53 pm

I received an update on Digsby and since then i’m not able to logon.
The last message i receive is “Loading skin…”
I already searched on the changelog, and donloaded b12 , uninstalled previous version an installed b12.
    Thanks please avise.

  33. Eric Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 3:56 pm

The latest version gets through my corporate proxy and connects, but then hangs while loading the skin. The previous version wouldn’t even connect, so it’s getting closer.

  34. Romy Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 6:37 pm

I still get the Failed To Connect error…I really want to test this program out!!

  35. Kyanges Said,

    February 12, 2008 @ 9:08 pm

I am not very sure what happened, but the the previous versions of Digsby allowed me to send messages to MSN users. Suddenly, a bug has appeared that does not allow me to do this anymore after the most recent update.

  36. Kshitij Said,

    February 13, 2008 @ 1:49 pm

well while connecting it shows downloading update in taskbar the it changes to connecting and finally “failed to connect” even when i have configured proxy settings (it doesnt detects them frm ie i guess) and finally this error message is displayed
“we are upgrading digsby. Please try connecting again in few minutes”
am i missing nething here cos this been happening to me for past 6-7 hrs

  37. Kshitij Said,

    February 13, 2008 @ 2:31 pm
